So it was a great time to start off the New Year of 2013 with new beginnings and to look forward. I celebrated NYE with some of my best friends in a relaxed setting.
Right after the New Years I got a new job at a gym. It was great in the beginning and my coworkers were awesome!
Our holiday partyBut my life went to crap in February because I became sick with the flu. I went to urgent care and got the medicine to make me feel better. It seemed to work for a couple days but then I started getting a really bad pain in my side right underneath my ribcage. I thought maybe it was that I just pulled a muscle cause of all the coughing I was doing. By Valentine's Day, I was in so much pain that I couldn't get up, so my dad took me to urgent care again. They thought that I just had an air bubble in my intestine after the x-ray until they saw that my pulse rate was 130 (your pulse rate is supposed to be around 80). So they told me to go to the ER because I was dehydrated and needed fluids.
So I went to the ER and was welcomed by one of my sorority sisters that was an ER nurse. She made sure that I was taken care of. After an EKG and a Cat Scan they decided to admit me over night because they found that I had pneumonia and that there was so many blood clots in my lungs, they couldn't count them.
Well my overnight stay turned into 14 days in ICU and 4 days in a normal room until I was discharged. I had four different antibiotics in me and blood thinners through IVs they whole time. The only thing that made the stay bearable was all the support/visits I got from friends and family. My dad, Craig stayed with me the whole time I was there. He came in the morning and left at night. I don't know what I would do without him.
After I was discharged I was put on pill form of blood thinners and have to be on them for at least six months. I also have to get my blood drawn a lot to make sure my INR is where it is supposed to be.
Im excited now though because it is August 7, which means that hopefully I will only be on these blood thinners for another week. After that I will be going to see a blood specialist to make sure that the blood clots are not genetic.
I pretty much had the whole menu
Yeah I got bored easily lol
My dad is awesome! He painted my toenails while I was in there.
And my best friend braided my hair :)
Loving the outfit I was stuck with lol
Finally free of the IVs :)
This is my reaction to being discharged
So after I was discharged I was still really weak so I recovered at home. I decided I needed a new change, so I switched up my hair again and this time got Ombre effect!
By May 4th I got a new job at a local boutique as a customer service rep and also am now a seamstress. I a did some modeling recently. I am now a licensed driver as well! So things are finally looking up! :)
